Staying Dedicated to the Gym
Leading such a busy life, it can become easy to lose all dedication for the gym. It’s tough, you have to go to work, spend time with friends and family, spend time with your significant other, you’re so busy that you just don’t have the motivation for the gym. It happens to a lot of us, you find yourself losing that momentum you had at the beginning of the year after a few months of dedication. The real question is how do you become and stay dedicated to your fitness journey?
A Fitness Plan to Help Get You There
We have all been there at the beginning of our journey. You walk into the gym with all the confidence in the world only to find out that you don’t know as much as you originally thought. So you proceed to walk around the gym and use anything that you have an understanding of. There is no plan, just working out will be enough, right? Wrong. When you have a personalized fitness plan it gives you the motivation needed to get the results you want. Your motivation will, in turn, become dedication to the gym now and into the future.
Get back to Eating Right
I don’t know about you, but I know when I lose my dedication to my own fitness journey, my eating turns to more processed, unhealthy food choices. It is for that reason that one of the first things you need to do is recommit to eating well. When you choose Healthy eating over unhealthy eating it will help keep you stay dedicated to the gym because the body you want wasn’t made by processed food. Unfortunately, most foods you find on the shelf at your grocery store are highly processed even if it's advertised as "healthy". Be sure to check the label for the minimum amount of ingredients possible and no added sugar, a good rule of thumb is to look for items with less than 5g of sugar. But to be safe, cook your meals yourself so you KNOW what is in it.
Accountability Partner Needed
Put an ad in the paper, “dedicated fitness partner needed to keep me motivated on my fitness journey.” Just kidding, could you imagine? In all seriousness though, having a workout buddy is great motivation to keep you showing up. With the right fitness partner, they will keep pushing you further through your fitness journey because you are both striving towards similar goals. Celebrating a milestone is much greater when celebrating with a friend, so team up and don't just commit to yourself, commit to each other!
